It’s no secret that too many peeps are struggling with dropping unwanted pounds.  People in the US suffer from high blood sugar levels, and let’s face it everyone is looking for an more natural route to help vs. turning to harsh drugs that may carry side effects. 

There is a lot of hype about Berberine from many companies advertising that it helps.  The truth is that it does help, but let me shed some light on exactly what it DOES help with.  It can help the body lower blood sugar levels.

The tough part is finding a supplement that is high quality and effective.  There are lots of scams and low-quality productsLet’s see if I can shed some light on what you should be looking for.

Let’s first cover the benefits of Berberine:

  • Helps regulate blood sugar levels
  • Helps increase energy levels
  • Helps improve cardiovascular health
  • Helps support your immune system

Yes it helps to support some health benefits.

What should you look for?

Make sure the dosage is for berberine and not for all the added other ingredients. As some companies will dilute the product with other cheaper ingredients.

Is the product made in the USA and third party tested?  You want to start checking to make sure what you are buying is made in the USA and that strict manufacturing quality standards are being adhered to. You should be checking to see if the supplement is third-party tested by an independent laboratory to ensure high quality and safety.

Fair return policy!

What happens if you are not happy with the product, it should be easy to return your supplement. Avoid brands that make it difficult to return a product or to get a refund.

FAKE REVIEWS

This is a HUGE problem folks. Many of the reviews on Amazon are fake or paid for. The best product does not always have the most reviews. You must study the ingredients and quality to find the best products. You cannot rely on Amazon reviews alone, and don’t choose the lowest cost product either.

LOWEST PRICED OPTION

This is a matter of your health, right? I know it can be tempting to go for the lowest price option to save a buck, but you really do get what you pay for. It comes down to being able to prioritize quality, even if that means paying a bit more.

REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

This is a big one because let’s face it, companies are paying someone to write the benefits of why you should purchase “their” product because it’s the greatest thing on the market.  If their advertising makes it sound like it’s going to be your ultimate saving grace especially when it comes to weight loss, understand these companies know that most folks are desperate to lose weight, so if it says take this and change nothing about your lifestyle.  Know you are being duped!

The truth is that supplements are tools, they are meant to assist the body to function better and to fill in nutritional gaps that are missing due to diet and lifestyles that need to be altered. Yes, the food supply can be sketchy.  Truth is we can no longer help our health solely thru diet anymore, supplementing is here to stay, like it or not, it’s the truth!

But nothing and I mean nothing is going to be a singular miracle in a bottle without diet, proper sleep, exercise, stress balancing.  Yes, Berberine HELPS, But Most people consume way more sugar in their daily diet than they realize.  Check your condiment choices, your coffee choices, sauces, commercial peanut butter is loaded with sugar FYI, carbohydrate intake. Sugar is hidden in many convenience foods for a particular reason, it makes them taste better and it makes the food item more addicting, and most end up overeating it.  I hear my patient’s say all the time, I quit eating fruits because they are loaded with sugar, yet when I start digging into everything else, they are consuming, I must be the bearer of bad news that their sugar intake is astounding.  Eat the FRUIT, the body metabolizes it faster and cleaner and ditch the carbs like the pasta, and constant intake of potatoes, breads.

Now you all know I am super picky about my supplement brands that I recommend.  So, I will give a product suggestion in the comment section below.  The other way of thinking I have to help people shift is , well if this is good for me then MORE milligrams at one serving must be better. Everyone wants a one and done dosage.  But unless you take into consideration metabolic factors, that typically won’t work in your favor either.  Most people see better benefits and results from taking smaller milligram doses several times a day for better metabolism of the product vs. a large over the top singular dose.
