I have wanted to write about this for quite some time as it never ceases to amaze me how spot on it is with regards to our health. What I mean by this is most of us are visually drawn to particular colors… We all have our FAVORITE colors that time and time again we reach for when we pick our clothing, jewelry, the colors we decorate our rooms with in our homes. Truth is there seems to be a direct connection to why certain colors resonate with us and others don’t.
I for one am grateful that God when he created everything around us, that he chose to add color. I mean think about that for a minute, what if ALL our fruits & vegetables were all the same color, what if all the flowers that grew were ALL the same color, the leaves on the trees, bushes, grass. Colors do many different things aside from offering distinction and depth when we look at something, they have a soothing effect on our personal/physical state too.
When you connect colors with fruits/vegetables and even your color choices; if you think about what you may have going on either physically from a health/ailment perspective or emotional perspective you may see the connection. Here’s a chart that I found at http://www.reikimassage.la/chromotherapy.htm

What studies have come to realize is that there is a science to using colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that result in health & harmony. Humans need the sun’s light, which is broken into 7 distinct rays, to live. If there is an imbalance in these colors within our bodies, it can manifest itself in mental or physical distress. Each color possesses frequencies of a specific vibration & each vibration is related to different physical symptoms. This is referred to as Chromotherapy which works on various energy points to help your body re-establish its natural balance. It accomplishes this via the full spectrum of visible light, each color of which addresses a separate bodily need.
Every single way our body is put together; by design is meant to constantly help us achieve inner & outer balance. Think about that for a minute. Our eyes are able to SEE in color, every function carries some sort of electrical impulse for any & everything to work, which in turn carries a vibrational stimulation to it. Our five senses: See, Hear, Smell, Touch, Taste all work together using ALL of these principles not just some of them. Color is a huge participant! Don’t believe me, try living without a variety of colors. Truth is even folks who are color blind can still see in reduced hues/shades, none sees completely in black & white.
When you find yourself DRAWN to a particular color family, refer back to the chart description above and see if physically you may be weak.
If you are drawn to reds is there something going on with your circulatory system? Strong pinks, do you have spider veins, or varicose veins? Oranges do you have lung weakness, and or cellulite issues?
I remember after my mom passed away back in 2005, I never completely understood what “depression” could do to a body physically, I never struggled with depression before and let me tell you what, I lost my appetite, felt like there was a rock in my throat so food didn’t want to go down, I lost a tremendous amount of weight in a very short period of time, my weight landed at 89 lbs. for several months. I craved straight carrot juice, in fact that was all I could swallow so I drank it all day long.
Without realizing it I began to transform my wardrobe, and began wearing, Greens, yellows, purples (which I was NEVER drawn to ever) I was always drawn to earth tone colors so for anything purple to end up in my wardrobe was crazy. I ended up painting the walls in my bedroom at the time to a yellow earth tone. So looking back I realize that my body was craving the colors it knew would help offer me some visual/vibrational balance.
Truth is most people if they pay attention to any major health scare, or the loss of a loved one, or major life change, like job loss; they will find they probably made major changes in the colors they surrounded themselves with, and particular color of foods they found themselves drawn to, especially if those choices were totally out of their normal routines.
I had a patient I was working with who had been attacked in a parking garage while leaving work, she had been beaten and raped. It was her husband who pointed out during one of our consultations that she had changed almost her entire wardrobe to where the only colors she wore were Red (which also signifies strength and fire), Pinks, which again is affiliated with strengthening, and cleaning ( trying to put the incident behind her), loud yellows, in fact with the exception of pink, her whole wardrobe switched to almost all LOUD primary colors. Where her wardrobe typically before consisted of blacks, tans and very light colored neutral clothing. Her husband mentioned it because he felt she was just using the “spending” as a diversion. What I suggested was it was her inner self crying out and wanting to send out the signal of STRENGTH & PURGING. I also recommended she take some self-defense classes.
Truth is we all subconsciously make these changes and most of us just don’t pay much attention to the “why” we changed what we were drawn too.
I thought this was something interesting and fun to post about. I sure would LOVE some feedback on this one if any of you have ever wondered why in what seems an all of the sudden moment you made major color changes in your lives, either through wardrobe, or how you decorated your home, can even come down to an inert longing to change the color car you drive. This is cool stuff….
Until next time…. Stay healthy my friends!!!!
Healthfully yours,
